THE TRANSFORMATION BRIDGE

SUMMARY OF MARCH 27, 2025 DISCUSSION

by Zoom

PRELUDE TO THE STUDY OF REVELATION

Belief in Afterlife and Christ's Return

The discussion focused on the importance of believing in the afterlife and being prepared for Christ's return. Delores emphasizes that individuals must decide for themselves whether they believe in heaven and hell, and that this belief is crucial for understanding the Book of Revelation. Tish adds that those who don't believe in the afterlife are unlikely to be interested in the Bible's teachings. They agree that their role is to provide information and live according to God's word, while it's God's job to change hearts. Delores then shares two Bible passages from 1 Thessalonians about the resurrection of the dead and the importance of being vigilant and prepared for Christ's return.

Paradise and Hell: Christian Afterlife Discussion

Delores led a discussion on the afterlife, focusing on where Christians and sinners go after death. She explains that Paradise or Abraham's bosom is synonymous with heaven, citing biblical examples like the thief on the cross and the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Delores emphasizes that there is a fixed separation between heaven and hell, with no possibility of crossing over. She clarifies that upon death, the lost are sent to hell where they remain until final judgment, while believers' spirits immediately enter Jesus' presence. Delores encourages the group to read Revelation chapters 1-3 for next week's discussion on the setup in heaven and the seven churches.

MODULE #1

What really happens after we die?                                        Thursday, April 3, 2025

According to Wikipedia, “The afterlife or life after death is a purported existence in which the essential part of an individual's stream of consciousness or identity continues to exist after the death of their physical body. The surviving essential aspect varies between belief systems; it may be some partial element, or the entire soul or spirit, which carries with it one's personal identity.

This session will cover the different theories regarding this subject and introduce us to Dr. Delores M. Smiley (The Presenter)
and to  John and his vision as it is related to us  from the Isle of Patmos—Revelation, Chapters 1-3.

• All attendees to continue reading and studying the Book of Revelation, particularly chapters 1-3.

• All attendees to reflect on which of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation their own church most resembles.

• All attendees to prepare for discussing Revelation 1:8 and beyond in the next meeting.

Exploring Revelation's Historical Context

The group begins their study of the Book of Revelation with an opening prayer and introductory discussion. Delores emphasized the value of studying Revelation, noting that it offers special blessings to readers and provides clear details on Bible prophecy. She suggested approaching the text with common sense and understanding its historical context. Delores also highlighted the importance of choosing to obey God and the significance of faith in Christ rather than animal sacrifices. The group then prepared to examine Chapter 1, with Delores asking for any initial questions or comments before discussing John, the author of Revelation.

Trinity in the Bible Discussed

In the meeting, Delores, Tish, and Yanick discussed the concept of the Trinity and its manifestation in the Bible. They focused on the book of John, which describes Jesus as God manifested in the flesh. They also discussed the creation of the earth and the role of Jesus in it. Tish shared her understanding of John, chapter one, verse one, which states that Jesus was with God in the beginning. They also touched on the banishment of John to the Isle of Patmos due to his beliefs and boldness in speaking. The discussion also included a reference to Genesis, chapter one, verse 26, which mentions the creation of man in the image of God. The conversation ended with a reflection on the Trinity and its presence throughout the Bible.

Revelation of Jesus Christ Explained

In the meeting, Delores, Tish and Yanick discussed the revelation of Jesus Christ as described in Revelation 1:1. They explored the meaning of the word "revelation" and its connection to Christ, emphasizing that it is a program for the world through Christ. They also discussed the concept of time, with Delores stating that God's perspective on time is different from ours. The importance of understanding God's words without adding or subtracting was also highlighted. Towards the end, they touched upon the use of symbols and signs in the book of Revelation, emphasizing the need to interpret them from the context or other Scriptures.

Revelation's Spiritual Journey and Angelic Messages

Delores, Tish, and Yanick discussed the spiritual journey and revelations in the Book of Revelation, written by John the Apostle. They emphasized the importance of faith, belief, and prayer in understanding God's end-time plan. Delores encouraged the group to assess their personal spiritual growth and dedication to Jesus Christ, as they prepare to share these revelations with others. They also touched on the role of angels in delivering messages and the significance of Jesus's personal angel in conveying the message of Revelation.

Witnessing the Word of God

In the meeting, Delores, Tish, and Yanick discussed the role of John as a witness to the Word of God and the importance of bearing record of the things he saw. They also explored the concept of a blessing for those who read and keep the words of the prophecy in the Book of Revelation. The discussion touched on the idea of time being near, but also acknowledged that it could be delayed, leading to questions about the timing of events. The conversation ended with a humorous exchange about people's impatience and tendency to move on to other things if they don't see immediate results.

Revelation 1:4-5 and the Seven Churches

The group discusses Revelation 1:4-5, focusing on John's message to the seven churches in Asia. Delores emphasized the significance of these churches, noting that they represent different situations relevant to churches throughout history, including the present day. The passage is analyzed for its references to God's eternal nature and Jesus Christ's role as a faithful witness and savior. Delores encouraged church leaders to reflect on which of the seven churches their congregation resembles and to heed the warnings and opportunities for improvement provided in the text.

Jesus: First Begotten of the Dead

Delores, Tish, and Yanick discussed the concept of the first begotten of the dead, with Tish initially struggling to understand the term. Delores clarified that it refers to Jesus, who was the first to rise from the dead. They also discussed the significance of Jesus being the Prince of Peace and the Prince of the Kings, emphasizing his role as a leader and a symbol of love. They touched on the stories of Enoch and Elijah, who were taken up to heaven without dying, and contrasted these with Jesus's resurrection. Delores emphasized that Jesus's resurrection was unique and marked the beginning of a new era, with believers in Christ also having the promise of eternal life without dying again.

Christ's Resurrection and Second Coming

The meeting involved a discussion about the resurrection of Christ and the promise of his second coming. Delores emphasized the importance of internalizing the truth of Christ's resurrection and the glory of the risen Christ. She also highlighted the significance of the blood of Christ in cleansing us from unrighteousness. The group discussed the importance of humility and not being carried away by materialistic titles. They also touched on the theme of Revelation and the death and resurrection of Christ. The conversation ended with a prayer and a reading of Psalm 23.

MODULE #2

Thursday, April 10, 2025

Continues from Chapter 1, Verse 8 through Chapter 3.

SUMMARY

Prayer Session for Guidance and Protection Delores led a prayer session, expressing gratitude for the blessings and guidance of God. She prayed for the world, leaders, and individuals to turn their lives around and do the right thing. She also prayed for the ministry and its members, seeking God's protection and strength. The group ended the session with a hymn, emphasizing the importance of God's presence in their lives.

Revelation's Significance and Jesus' Attributes Delores, Yanick, and Tish discussed the Book of Revelation, focusing on the introduction and the value of studying it. They explored the identity of John, who received the words in Revelation, and the result of his actions. They also discussed the significance of Jesus' words, emphasizing his role as the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end. They touched on the Trinity, the power of the Godhead, and the attributes of omnipotence (Power and Control over all things), omnipresence (Existence in every place at all times), and omniscience (Having knowledge and understanding of all things). Tish read Revelation 1:9, highlighting John's tribulation and his role as a companion in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ.

John's Significance as a Brother The group discussed the significance of John's self-identification as a brother and companion in tribulation to fellow believers. They emphasized the importance of having someone who understands and supports you during difficult times. The conversation then shifted to the value of seeking solitude with God, drawing parallels to Jesus' own practices of retreating to commune with God. They reflected on the power of prayer and personal connection with God, especially during times of struggle or loneliness. The discussion concluded with the reassurance that Jesus is always available to listen and provide comfort, even when human companions may not be able to.

Isle of Patmos and Biblical Exile The team discussed the significance of the Isle of Patmos, where John was exiled. They agreed that the island was not a luxurious place, but rather a prison. They also discussed the concept of exile in the Bible, citing examples of Moses, Elijah, and Daniel. Delores explained that the capitalization of "spirit" in the Bible signifies the Holy Spirit. They also discussed the significance of the Lord's day, with Tish asking if it was the same as the Sabbath. Delores expressed uncertainty about the definitive answer to this question.

Sabbath Day and Serving the Lord The team further discussed the concept of the Sabbath day and the Lord's day, with Delores emphasizing the importance of serving the Lord every day. They also touched on the topic of the resurrection and crucifixion, with Tish expressing her struggle with the timeline. Delores suggested that the Sabbath day could be any day of the week, as long as it is a day of rest and reflection. They concluded that the exact date and day of the Sabbath is not as important as the act of serving the Lord and taking a day of rest.

THE TIME IS AT HAND.  You're welcome to join us and let's grow together in Christ.

Meanwhile, we would appreciate and welcome your likes, shares, and comments.

MODULE #3

April 17, 2025

SUMMARY Starting at Chapter 1, Verse 12

Addressing Gun Violence With Action

Delores reflected on the recent shooting at Florida State University in Tallahassee. She expressed admiration for a student who remained calm due to her faith in Jesus. Delores criticized the legislative response, calling for action beyond prayers. She emphasized the need for concrete plans and timelines to address gun violence. Tish joined the conversation, sharing her upcoming trip to Amsterdam and discussing her emotional reaction to the shooting news. Both women expressed frustration with the typical "thoughts and prayers" response to such tragedies, calling for more meaningful action.

Discussing Action and God's Characteristics

Delores and Tish discussed the importance of taking action and speaking out against issues such as gun violence and educational problems. They emphasized the need for individuals to share their experiences and suggest improvements. Delores also clarified the meanings of the words "omni" in relation to God's characteristics of omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence. They agreed to proceed with their study of the book of Revelation.

Delores led a prayer session, expressing gratitude for blessings and seeking forgiveness for sins. She prayed for a safe and enjoyable trip for Tish, and for strength and guidance in the face of tribulations. The group also prayed for those affected by a recent tragedy, seeking comfort and peace. They acknowledged their dependence on God and expressed a willingness to serve His will.

Revelation's Symbolism and God's Purity

Delores and Tish discussed the Revelation 1st chapter, 12th verse, focusing on the voice of God, the 7 golden candlesticks, and the attire of the person in the midst of the candlesticks. They explored the physical appearance of the person's eyes and feet, the 7 stars, and the sharp, two-edged sword. They also discussed John's reaction to these descriptions and the concept of fear. The conversation then shifted to the keys to hell and death, and the importance of the little book that serves as a map for their journey. Delores emphasized the purity of God and the light that comes from Him, using the example of the candlesticks representing churches. They concluded the discussion by emphasizing the symbolic nature of everything they discussed.

Understanding God's Voice and Power

Delores and Tish discussed the voice of God, emphasizing its strength and majesty. They referenced various biblical passages, including the creation of the world, the voice heard by Moses on Mount Sinai, and the baptism of Jesus. They highlighted the importance of understanding God's voice to appreciate His power and character. The conversation also touched on the need for people to know God for themselves and the significance of foundational knowledge in understanding God's nature.

Dressing Appropriately for Church Services

In the meeting, Delores and Tish discussed the importance of dressing appropriately when attending church. They expressed their concerns about the lack of dignity and respect in the way people dress for church services, comparing it to how they dress for other social events. They emphasized the need for people to put forth the same effort in dressing for church as they do for other occasions. They also discussed the importance of maintaining a certain level of modesty and appropriateness in their attire.

Dress Modesty and Jesus's Ethnicity

Delores and Tish discussed appropriate dress for church and work, emphasizing the importance of modesty and respect. They agree that dressing appropriately shows self-respect and consideration for others. The conversation then shifted to the description of Jesus in Revelation, particularly his hair being "white like wool." They critiqued the common depiction of Jesus as white with straight hair, noting that the Bible doesn't specify his ethnicity. They concluded that Jesus's ethnicity is unimportant and that he is the God of all people, regardless of race.

Jesus' Eyes as Flames of Fire

Delores and Tish discussed the biblical description of Jesus' eyes as flames of fire, interpreting it as a symbol of perfect discernment and divine light. They explored the significance of Jesus as the source of all light in heaven and how accepting Him changes one's perspective on life. The conversation touched on the joy of sharing faith with others who are genuinely interested and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. They concluded by discussing how Jesus' purifying presence in a church can lead to alignment with God's will.

Meeting summary for “Are You Afraid of Coming Into the Knowledge of God”?

(05/08/2025)

Quick recap

As host of the Thursday Evening interactive discussion sessions, Dr. Delores M. Smiley and company focused on continuing the study of the Book of Revelation by opening with prayer and expressing gratitude for blessings and asking for forgiveness for sins. The session ended with Delores emphasizing the importance of understanding and absorbing the teachings to avoid being caught unaware during the end times, as well as the need for self examination for spiritual growth.

Summary of Discussion

Mother's Day Reflection and Introductory Remarks

Delores, who is also the co-founder of Journey to Spiritual Growth, welcomed participants and expressed gratitude for the day's events. Delores also acknowledged Mother's Day, wishing mothers and mother figures happiness, joy, and peace. She briefly discussed the election of a new Pope, emphasizing God's ability to perform extraordinary acts. Delores urged participants to remain vigilant and attentive to unfolding events, as the time is dire. The session concluded with a prayer, inviting participants to approach the throne of grace.

Prayer for Blessings and Forgiveness

The opening prayer was an expression of gratitude for blessings and asking for forgiveness for sins. Delores prayed for the presence of the Lord, for repentance, and for forgiveness. She also prayed for the sick, the homeless, and those in need, asking for comfort and healing. Delores prayed for those who have been called to share the word and for a home in the kingdom when it's time to answer the Lord's call.

Revelation's Golden Candlesticks and Jesus' Presence

Continuing in the first chapter of Revelation, there was a reminder of the symbolism of the 7 golden candlesticks that represented the 7 churches and Jesus standing in the midst of them. As listeners engage, they were encouraged to pay attention to all the symbols including the significance of the right hand reference, representing special blessings and attention. Also, be reminded of Jesus' comforting and encouraging nature, assuring believers of his presence and peace. It was suggested that the fear of should be replaced with reverence as God’s self-identification is "I am" which is present tense, signifying no beginning or end.

Understanding Eternity and Jesus' Salvation

To that point, the discussion moved to understanding of the concept of eternity and God's magnificence, emphasizing that it's difficult to understand in the flesh but much more effective to understand from the reference point of the Holy Spirit. Jesus' role includes the fact that he is the one who decides who lives and dies, and how he took on the form of flesh and died on the cross for our sins. Understanding that, should one desire salvation because they have made the decision to follow Christ, the process of salvation is explained in Romans 10:9 and emphasizes the importance of confessing and believing in Jesus.

Understanding God's End Time Plan

As we follow Christ, the emphasis was placed on the importance of understanding who is in charge, stating that it is not a deacon, priest, evangelist, or pope, but rather the Most High God. There is a need to focus on Christ and not be distracted by superficial things. She stated that God is in the process of fulfilling His end time plan, and those who do not believe this are not awake to their job.

Understanding the 7 Stars and Candlesticks

The importance of understanding and absorbing the teachings to avoid being caught unaware during the end times, she explained that the 7 stars and candlesticks represent the angels and churches, respectively, and that the mystery of the 7 stars is Jesus, who is widely proclaiming the truth. In that we discover that the angels are key elders in the churches who spread the light whose source is Jesus Christ.

Ministers and the Holy Spirit

In the meeting, Delores discussed the importance of spreading the light of Jesus Christ and the role of ministers in doing so. She emphasized that ministers should receive their message for the Church through the Holy Spirit of God, rather than buying or being sent messages from other people. Delores also explained the symbolism of the 7 candlesticks in the book of Revelation, representing all churches then and now. She highlighted that Jesus knows the problems of each specific church and knows what message tools need to be brought. Delores also discussed the importance of knowing one's actions are being observed by Jesus, and the need to overcome enemies and temptation.

Spiritual Growth and Repentance Emphasized

Delores emphasized the importance of self-examination to guide us toward spiritual growth urging the congregation to listen to the Spirit's guidance. She highlighted the need for repentance and the pursuit of righteousness, using the example of Christ's messages to the churches in Asia. Delores also stressed the significance of the Holy Spirit's presence in the church, encouraging the congregation to yield to its power. The conversation ended with a prayer for continued guidance and protection.
